H. Charles Maddy III
H. Charles Maddy, III has served as a member of the Board of Directors since 1993 and has served as a member of the Board of Directors of Summit’s banking subsidiary, Summit Community Bank, since 1993.    Mr. Maddy is currently the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Company and has served in this capacity since 1994.  Mr. Maddy has demonstrated exceptional leadership through his participation in a variety of professional and community service activities, including his service as Director and past President of the West Virginia Bankers’ Association, chairman of its Audit Committee and member of its Legislative/Government Relations Committee, Pension & Benefits Committee and BankPAC Committee; Director of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Pittsburgh and serves on its Finance Committee and Operational Risk Committee and past Chairman of its Audit Committee; member of American Bankers Association and serves on its Federal Home Loan Bank Open Committee; Director and a Founder of the Hardy County Child Care Center; Director of Valley View Golf Association; past President and past Director of the West Virginia Association of Community Bankers and past Director of the Hardy County Community Foundation.  Mr. Maddy has also been recognized as a leader in his industry and has been the recipient of the Outstanding CPA in Business and Industry Award and the AICPA Business and Industry Hall of Fame Award.  Mr. Maddy received his Bachelor of Science degree in business administration with a concentration in accounting from Concord College.  Mr. Maddy is a member of the Executive Committee, the Asset/Liability and Funds Management Committee and the ESOP/401(K) Committee. 
Robert-S.-Tissue

Robert Tissue is the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Summit Financial Group and Summit Community Bank. Tissue joined Summit in 1998 and has the overall responsibility for accounting, finance, treasury and risk management functions. 

Tissue has over 30 years of bank related experience.  Before joining Summit, Tissue served in public accounting at Arnett Carbis Toothman LLP (now Baker Tilly) and is a licensed CPA. 

Tissue graduated cum laude with a B.S. in Business Administration, major concentration in accounting from West Virginia University in 1985. 

Scott-C.-Jennings

Scott Jennings is the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Summit Financial Group and Summit Community Bank. Jennings oversees the teams responsible for Information Technology, Compliance, Project Management, Deposit Operations, and Loan Operations.  

Jennings has over 38 years of banking experience, beginning his career at the former Potomac Valley Bank in 1984 and then joined Summit in 1986.  Jennings served in various positions of increased responsibility in the bank over the years before being named Chief Operating Officer in 2000. 

Jennings received a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in business administration from Bridgewater College in 1984.  Jennings is currently Chairman of the FIS Bankway User Group and Q2 User Group. He is a past member of the Richmond Federal Reserve Advisory Board. 

Patrick-N.-Frye

Patrick Frye is the Executive Vice President and Chief of Credit Administration of Summit Financial Group and Summit Community Bank. Frye oversees the teams responsible for Debt Management, Commercial Lending (Potomac Market), Retail Lending, Appraisals, and Facilities Management.

Frye joined Summit in 1998 and has over 40 years of banking and executive management experience involving banks of various sizes.  Frye is a Board of Director of the West Virginia School of Banking and has been an instructor for many years. 

Frye graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree with a major in business administration from Shepherd College, Shepherdstown, WV in 1982.  Frye is also a graduate of the University of Wisconsin Graduate School of Banking, Madison, WI. 

Brad Ritchie
Brad Ritchie is Executive Vice President of Summit Financial Group and President of its subsidiary, Summit Community Bank.

Ritchie joined Summit in 2008 after 11 years at United Bank in Charleston, WV where he served as Regional President.  Prior to that, Ritchie worked in public accounting at Arnett Carbis Toothman LLP (now Baker Tilly). 

Ritchie participates in a variety of professional and community service activities which include serving as Director of the Community Bankers of West Virginia, past Director of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Pittsburgh, and Director of the Rhea of Hope Foundation, which supports underserved at-risk girls, adolescent and young adult females.  He also serves on the fund-raising campaigns for the Young Men’s Christian Association and the Buckskin Council, Boy Scouts of America.

Ritchie graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration with a major in accounting from West Virginia University, Morgantown, WV in 1990.  Ritchie is also a licensed Certified Public Accountant. 

Danyl Freeman

Danyl Freeman is the Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resource Officer of Summit Financial Group and Summit Community Bank. Freeman began her career at Summit in 1991 and has been overseeing Human Resources functions since 1997.  Prior to that time, she held various positions with Summit.

Freeman is a Board Member of the McCoy-McMechen Museum Board and a past Board Member and past Chairman of the Moorefield High School Scholarship Fund.  Freeman has taught various classes at the West Virginia Bankers Association Banking School over the years and has also been an instructor of Principles of Banking.  

Freeman graduated in 1991 with a Bachelor of Science in accounting and Bachelor of Science in management from Alderson Broaddus College in Philippi, WV.  She is also a graduate of the West Virginia Banking School.

Joseph Hager

Joseph Hager is the Executive Vice President and Chief Risk Officer of Summit Financial Group and Summit Community Bank. Hager joined Summit in 2016 and previously served as Chief Audit Executive. Before joining the Company, Hager served in public accounting at Arnett Carbis Toothman LLP (now Baker Tilly) and PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP. 

The Hurricane, WV native is a graduate of West Virginia University and a licensed Certified Public Accountant. 

Lauren Kimlel

Lauren Kimlel serves as the Executive Vice President and Chief Banking Officer for Summit Financial Group and its subsidiary, Summit Community Bank. Joining the organization in 2023, she brings with her over 25 years of expertise in the banking industry, encompassing sales and operations management, credit, risk management, as well as leadership and team development.

An alumnus of Frostburg State University, Kimlel earned her MBA from Salisbury University, specializing in finance. In addition to her role at Summit, she is an active member of the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond's Payments Advisory Council and holds a board position with MACHA Payments Advisory Resource.

Julie Markwood

Julie Markwood is the Executive Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer of Summit Financial Group and Summit Community Bank. Markwood joined Summit in 1988 and served in several positions of increased responsibility in the accounting department over the years. 

Markwood, a Hardy County, WV native, holds an undergraduate degree in business, with a concentration in accounting.

Angela Zirk

Angela Zirk is the Executive Vice President and Chief Experience Officer of Summit Financial Group and Summit Community Bank.  Zirk joined Summit in 2005 and previously served as SVP, Director of Marketing and Public Relations. Her overall responsibility is to lead the Client Care Center, Summit Assist Tellers and the Marketing Department while ensuring the experiences of our internal and external clients align with our principles of Service Beyond Expectations.  

A graduate from West Virginia University, Zirk also holds an ABA School of Bank Marketing and Management degree, a CFMP (Certified Financial Marketing Professional) certification and is a graduate from the ABA Stonier Graduate School of Banking and has a Wharton Leadership certificate from the University of Pennsylvania. Angie also attended the West Virginia Bankers Association Emerging Leaders Program and is currently a Board Member of West Virginia Bankers Association Future Leaders Council. The Moorefield, WV native is active in the community, serving on various non-profit boards.
